Some people do get to the Hyatt Hotel on Thursday to try and familiarize themselves with the layout so they know where everything is, but most people don't arrive until Friday.

I bring these every year, so find me if you want some ^^ Hidden Valley Oyster Crackers INGREDIENTS 1 1-oz. packet Hidden Valley® Original Ranch® Salad Dressing & Seasoning Mix ¼ cup vegetable oil 2½ tablespoons freshly chopped dill (or 1 teaspoon dried) ¼ teaspoon lemon pepper and/or garlic powder, (optional) 1 16-oz. box oyster crackers DIRECTIONS Preheat the oven to 250°F. In a small bowl, add the oil, Hidden Valley® Original Ranch® Salad Dressing & Seasoning Mix, dill, and lemon pepper and/or garlic powder. Stir until mixed through. In a 1-gallon-size Glad® Zipper Bag, add the crackers and oil mixture. Seal the bag and toss until well-coated. Arrange the crackers on an ungreased half-sheet pan in a single layer. Bake the crackers for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden.

Soooo why is there no difference for whether I pre-registered or not once I'm actually AT registration? It doesn't seem to do me any favors, buying my badge ahead of time, when no one splits the lines up. Looks like many of us will miss most (if not all) of the Friday events.

The hotel and con center are located about 1/4 to 1/2 of a mile south of the CTA's Blue Line "Rosemont" station. If you look on their site, you can find several bus lines that make connections to that station as well. The Convention officially starts at noon on Friday, July 3; though I'm sure con goers will be out and about before then. This is my first AM as well, but I've attended conventions many times here before. Just be ready for additional traffic and possible restrictions due to the holiday weekend.
