Hello everyone! This year will be my first Anime Midwest and I am SOOOO excited :) I started cosplaying and attending conventions last year and am looking to adding more every year! I love anime, video games, and sports. My most recent obsession is Doctor who. I play quidditch for my University (yes quidditch has become as actual sport!)I love going to cons because it gives a unique environment to meet new people who have the same awesome interests as you along with allowing me to dress up in public haha! It is nice to meet you all!

Welcome! This is my first year at this convention too. I just moved out to WI, I usually go to cons on the Northeast and currently I can go to around 8-11 cons per year because of my location. Awesome! There's a Quidditch team at my college too (Emerson College in Boston) lol. You love conventions for the same reasons I do. It's more of a social thing for me rather than for me to go to events. I just like meeting new people and seeing all the awesome costumes that people create. Who will you be cosplaying at Anime Midwest?

That's really cool. Since I live in Southern Illinois I have to travel kinda far for most cons. Right now I've been going to 2-3 a year, but hopefully adding a few more for 2014. My costume line up: femme version of 11th Doctor (Doctor who), Ariel (Little Mermaid), and Moka (Rosario+ Vampire). I'll also be dragging my bf along who is doing partner cosplay with me for Little Mermaid and Rosario. I'm very excited to see everyone's cosplay. This will be the biggest con I've been to so far. I assume you'll be there as Captain Jack which looks amazing btw :)

There are a lot of cons in Chicago, so if Chicago isn't too far from you, you could start going to more cons there. There also may be an Amtrak station near you and those go right to the center of Chicago I've never seen Rosario + Vampire but I think I have seen cosplays from that at conventions (I actually don't watch much anime lol). Will you be going to the Disney photoshoot/meetup as Ariel then? I will probably go to that, maybe. xD How large exactly is Anime Midwest? Are any of you familiar with any east coast cons? Would you say that it is roughly the size of Otakon or Anime Boston? I will be :D Probably Friday I will use the current version of Jack I have in my photos and then Saturday I might have my OST updates done, so we'll see how that goes. And thank you very much! @Sweeny I'm actually 6 hours south of Chicago, but there is an Amtrak station in my town. I know I'll be going to ACEN next year. I didn't know there was going to be a Disney meet up. I definitely want to go! As for size all I know is its supposed to be around 5000 people. I've only been to cons in the Midwest, the biggest being Anime St. Louis with around 3000 people. @Kandy will you be cosplaying?

I will! I will only be bring two costumes this time. Catherine from "Catherine" and a World of Warcraft warlock pet (to go with my BFs warlock costume).

kizzle6429, Oh wow that's pretty far lol but at least there is an Amtrak station near you, that's convenient xD I just looked at the thread where it said "Disney Cosplayers?" and it looks like no one has arranged a meetup yet >.< my mistake... got the meetup confused with the one for Otakon lol But maybe there will be a meetup, I can't imagine why there wouldn't be, there are always a good number of Disney cosplayers wandering around. I just looked at the stats for AB and Otakon, they both have attendance over 10,000 people (Otakon last year had 30,000 people there) o___o I was not expecting those kinds of numbers. So I guess this convention is roughly the size of AnimeNEXT which was my local con in NJ
