Have a question? I may be able to help!

It all depends on how many sign up, the convention it's held at, and programming time allowance. In the instance of midwest judge the length of the masquerade by last years listing. They still have last years schedule up on the website, so you can check that out to give you an idea. If you enter the masquerade you'll have to go be judged and do a walk through. This can take anywhere from 1 hour to an hour and a half. Typically the judging and walk through is done right before the event. But sometimes there is a small break in-between. Again, for the best idea you can get as to how long this event runs at midwest simply go to the events page and click to view the 2014 schedule that's still up. You'll find the masquerade listed and get an idea on the timeframe. Sorry I can't be of more help! I'm doing this on my phone. Also as far as hallway cosplay contests go I don't believe midwest has one last year. I May be corrected if wrong. If you are looking for something fun to do while at midwest allow me to invite you to the Cosplaying Community meetup/photoshoot. We will have a giveaway and game set up over the weekend to go along with all the fun midwest brings. If interested here is the community: http://cosplayingcommunity.boards.net

Thank you for your help with getting in touch with Molly!! It looks like I'm out the cost of a badge as I'm being told I can't transfer it to another person...I noticed in another response that you said the con is very forgiving about this kind of thing...I'm wondering if we showed up anyway with the person whom the badge was not originally intended for, will they be turned away?? They are 13 or 14 yrs old... Do they check id everytime you go in or out of the con? This is our first time and I'm just trying to understand what I'm in for... I don't want to take my son's friend and then have them turned away at the door...especially because we got a room at the hotel for Sat. night so that they may go for 2 full days. Thank you again for your help!!

As long as they don't go to any adult panels they should never have to show their photo id. However if you are picking the badge up at con you'll need an idea to her the badge and the name would have to match. Unless of course these badges can all be picked up by just you. For a convention I went to (not midwest) a friend of mine wasn't able to make it and I had bought her badge. When I went to pick up my badge they had it down that I payed for both and gave me both badges. I then gave that to another friend to use over the weekend...because there really was no need for it to just sit in my hotel. I don't condone this sorta of thing though. If you can get both badges yourself at midwest you shouldn't have a problem allowing it to be used by someone else as they check for ages or day admittance on badges for vendors hall and some panels. Like I said a photo id is only asked at pickup and for adult panels. So I can't say what will happen for you. Best of luck!

Let's me know after con how that went. I'm thinking since you bought the badges and one is for someone under age (correct me if wrong) your id is all that's needed to pick up both badges. Because some kids don't have or forget to bring ids. It's worth a try though. Again let's me know how that goes please.

you have a gift card that is a visa yes? you should be able to register online using that visa. it acts just like a bank visa or mastercard. so try registering online using your visa giftcard. it should work fine, I've used these things before. you can have the option for them to be mailed, however I don't know much about when you will get your badge in the mail as this is my first year doing the mailing option. if you pay for it online and don't want to have the badge mailed you can pick it up at con. they will have a prereg line which is a short line and all you need is either a print off of your purchase sent via email or just your name and photo id. a school I'd will work fine. I hope I answered all your questions. if not post any others you have and I will be glad to help out.

If you are purchasing online you pay online and no more even if you pick up your badge at con. If you decide you want to buy your badge at con you will have to stand in another line to pay for your badge. So pay online and all you need is your id when you pick up at con. Or pay at con and get your badge. Normally I pay online then go to con and grab my badge at the prereg line. This year I am trying to see id I cm get mine mailed. Did this help answer your question?

what if you're under 16 and someone already payed for your badge online? what ID would we have to bring? would it be our school ID since it said to bring an ID so they can give you the badge?

From my limited knowledge a school ID or State ID would be just fine for getting your badge.
