Slenderman cosplay...too soon?

Improving upon both my costumes from last year, i was planning on cosplaying as Slenderman again this year...and then this happened, and the news ran with it.(NBC link): http://www.nbcnews.com/storyline/slender-man-stabbing I also saw that someone who was dressed as slender at ACEN got his share of 'angry internet' elsewhere in light of these events. I don't want to be that 'insensitive guy,' but i still want to cosplay as Slender again this year. I do have another costume i can wear, so that isn't an issue. Is it too soon?

Go for it! I would back you up for sure. Cosplay who you want. I remember reading about all that, it was sad news indeed, but I for one would never come at someone cosplaying as slender just because of that. That's my two cents. I say go for it. I met a slenderman cosplayer at Midwest last year. Perhaps it was you? (: we talked sitting down for a while in the evening on Saturday
