So, I saw that parking for people driving is $11/day. How does the parking situation work for those of us staying at other hotels due to budget constraints? Do we also pay $11/day?

If you drive from those hotels to the convention, then the $11 would still apply. If your hotel is close enough, it may be possible for you to walk to and from the convention and then you wouldn't have to pay for extra parking. So that may be another option for you.
