In need of a ride - all the way down here in TN

fraugrossmutig
So I got stuck with money for the con and my last ride bailed on me last minute...and now all the money I spent has gone to waste thanks to this someone...and it was for my birthday, too...which stinks even more now... So, sappy/gross sobbing entailed within - anyone live in the south heading up there to the convention? I have gas money to pay. I live in Chattanooga, TN. I also bring lots of food and super duper friendliness and no one can fathom how much this would mean to me. There's personal reasons involved but no one cares to hear that or these run-on sentences I continue to speak in. Any answer/availability asap would be amazing and forever grateful.

This isn't the kind of convention people travel for!! Try the rideshare group on couchsurfing.com or kindrideshare.net. kindrideshare.net usually doesn't have very many postings, but it might have links to the more active site who's name I forgot.

There's a group of people carpooling up from St. Louis if you can make it there.

You'd probably have better luck looking for a flight to Chicago and then maybe arranging a ride from Chicago O'Hare Airport to Rosemont because TN to IL is quite a far drive. If you can manage it, flights from Nashville, TN to Chicago, IL run around $328 for a round trip. I'm thinking it will cost you almost that much in gas money if you were to have someone drive you to and from the con. Plus if you have frequent flyer miles with United you could probably redeem those for a free trip or a discount

It's not as far as you think it is. The amount of money they would spend on gas between 4 people is a lot less.

I just moved up from Chattanooga to NY state a few weeks ago, otherwise I would definitely help you out. I know that does not help the OP, but I hope you make it to the con okay!

Oh my was this for this years convention? We just drove up from Cleveland TN so I reallly hope I didn't see this literally less than 24 hours late....(so yes this is a con at least some people are traveling for)also, no gas wasn't nearly that much, we only had to fill up once on the way (after leaving with a full tank). We spent $90 total. Much cheaper than flying...
