I don't want to be carrying a wad of cash in my pocket so can I buy swag with just my debit card or should I also be prepared to bring a mountain full of money in my pocket?

I think the hotel(s) might have ATMs somewhere in their buildings. Some dealers WILL accept cards, and some might not. You should check if the hotels around Anime Midwest have ATMs and accept your card.

Most should be able to accept credit/debit cards, but for the ones that don't you should have some cash handy. I believe an ATM is in the hotel. I know I saw one at the convention center next door for sure.

It depends on the dealer/artist.

For the most part I think all dealers will take credit. A good majority of artists will now too, but some, like me, have a minimum purchase amount (for me it's $10) to use credit as we get hit with fees. Most will display a sign somewhere if they take credit, but you can definitely always ask :)
