What is an comic convention? A comic convention is a gathering of fans of comic books and popular culture. Anime Midwest is an anime and comic convention held annually in Chicago. Our convention will bring together over 3,000+ fans of anime, comic books, art, music, and more for three full days in July. Attendees gather to cosplay, meet awesome guests, attend concerts, and make a ton of new friends. Anime and comic conventions happen around the country, and Anime Midwest is one of the best events you can find in Chicago. You can check out tons pictures or videos from last year.
Why attend Anime Midwest over another con? The difference at Anime Midwest is both our events list and the community. Instead of just sticking thousands of fans in a big room of dealers (which we also have anyway), we offer some of the best events you could want: epic rave dances each night, a formal ball with dance lessons, tons of panels with creators, and a heck of a lot of costuming. While we don't have as many comic guests the 20,000+ person conventions, you'll have a better chance to meet and hang out with the writers, illustrators, and voice actors we do have.
